BASHIBA is a node in dynamic networks. We coordinate work through technology independently of temporal and spatial boundaries. This is for Giddens a characteristic of post-modernity that is fundamentally different from bureaucratic modes of organizing where time and space were fixed and predefined.

In Chinese culture eighty-eight (88=BASHIBA) symbolizes fortune and good luck since the word "8" sounds similar to the word "wealth" in Mandarin. Chinese speakers also use 88 as a shorthand for "good bye" in SMS and IM chats.
